"I Like to Move It, Move It"

Aside from being a great old song, it's an awesome reminder to move your body. Clients say to me daily that they don't have time to exercise. I totally get it. Blocking out time for the gym/shower can take a large chunk of your day. I am here to tell you, there are many alternative ways to squeeze it in. Are you ready?

  1. Dance while you are cooking - pump up the jams and dance around that kitchen! It's the best and also makes the chore of preparing a meal into something fun!
  2. Empty the dishwasher - the up and down of loading and unloading the dishwasher can turn into squats. Go deep!
  3. Vacuum - working your arms here people, get low and work your lower half too.
  4. Walk your dog - don't have one? Get one! Unconditional love is the best!
  5. Stand while watching TV - it burns 30% more calories. Perhaps even throw in some balancing poses while you are at it.
  6. Park far - I have mentioned this one before, but it requires repeating. Leave those "good" spots for the elderly. Park as far as you can and get those extra steps in. While you are at it...do some lunges all the way to the store!
  7. HAVE SEX!!!- I'm sorry for the excessive use of exclamation points, but it is important. Sex burns 3-4 calories per minute. Even just kissing burns 2-3 calories per minute. So pucker up and have some fun!
