What is Metabolic Syndrome?

Would any of the following describe you?

Abdominal fat

High blood pressure

Unhealthy cholesterol levels

High blood sugar

This cluster of conditions can lead to cardiovascular diseases, stroke and Type 2 diabetes. However, you can definitely treat this by making some simple lifestyle changes that will have a significant impact on your health.

Eat a Healthy Diet

What constitutes a healthy diet? What I typically recommend for my clients (once they get to a healthy weight - we will delve into that in a minute) is a Mediterranean style diet. This is not only good for you but also delicious. We are talking about fresh fruits and vegetables, beans, lean proteins, nuts, seeds, whole grains (not white flour products). When you ingest fat, go for the good fat like avocados (yum!) and olives (or olive oil).

Exercise

You can start slowly. Perhaps just walking 30 minutes after dinner each night. Gradually build on this, increase your pace, add time until you reach at least an hour. As you get more fit it will become easier and you can incorporate a more challenging workout. I know taking the first step will feel monumental, but it will get easier.

Lose Weight

Each of the suggestions I mentioned will help a bit in this department, but if you really want to get healthy and lose the weight to truly impact your healthy, then you need to go on a diet. Once you reach your target the Mediterranean lifestyle is the perfect way to maintain. Weight loss can improve every single aspect of metabolic syndrome. I cannot stress this enough.

Making simple habit changes now can help prevent serious illnesses in your future. Take action.

At The Sadkhin Complex, Natural Weight Loss Center in Boca Raton, we can help you get healthy and stay that way.
